Day 4: Christ Above All
Scripture: Matthew 10:37–38
“Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me.”
These may be some of the hardest words Jesus ever spoke. He is not teaching us to love our families less. Rather, He is teaching us that our love for Him must be supreme.
Every relationship, ambition, dream, and desire must be surrendered to His lordship. Jesus is not merely our Savior; He is also our King.
Following Christ sometimes creates tension. Family members may not understand our convictions. Friends may question our priorities. Others may misunderstand our commitment to biblical truth.
Yet Jesus calls us to place Him first. When Christ occupies the highest place in our hearts, every other relationship finds its proper place as well.
Reflection Questions:
- Are there areas of your life that you have not fully surrendered to Christ?
- What does it mean for Jesus to be Lord over your daily decisions?
Prayer:
Lord, I surrender every area of my life to You. Help me love You above all else and follow You wherever You lead. Amen.
