Day 1 — Recalculating the Route
Scripture: Matthew 4:19
“Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Most GPS systems are designed to get us where we want to go. Jesus does something different. He calls us away from the destination we had planned and invites us onto His route instead.
Peter and Andrew had already mapped out their lives. They were fishermen with jobs, routines, and expectations. Then Jesus showed up and said, “Follow Me.”
In that moment, Jesus became their Life GPS.
Following Jesus often means stepping into unfamiliar territory. We may not know the final destination, but we can trust the One who does. The disciples left their nets before they understood where Jesus would lead them. Their obedience came before their understanding.
Many people want God’s full plan before they take the first step. Jesus usually works the other way around. He calls us to trust Him today and reveals tomorrow when we get there.
Reflection Questions
- What “nets” might Jesus be asking you to leave behind?
- Is there an area where you are waiting for complete understanding before obeying?
- What would it look like to trust Jesus with the next step?
Prayer
Lord, help me trust You even when I cannot see the whole path ahead. Give me the courage to follow wherever You lead. Amen.
