Day 3 — Someone Needs to Hear
Scripture: Romans 10:13–14
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?”
Paul asks a series of important questions:
How can people call on Jesus if they don’t believe?
How can they believe if they haven’t heard?
How can they hear without someone telling them?
The answer is simple: God sends His people.
You may not stand behind a pulpit. You may never preach a sermon to hundreds of people. But you have people in your life who may be far more likely to listen to you than they are to listen to a preacher.
A coworker.
A friend.
A family member.
A neighbor.
Someone sitting beside you at work.
God has placed people around you for a reason.
Not everyone will respond positively when we share our faith. Some may disagree. Some may reject the message. But our responsibility isn’t to make someone believe.
Our responsibility is to faithfully carry the message.
Someone may be waiting to hear the gospel from you.
Reflect
- Who has God placed in my life who may not truly understand the gospel?
- Have I ever assumed someone was a Christian without actually knowing what they believe?
- What keeps me from talking about Jesus?
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to the people around me. Give me compassion for those who don’t know You and courage to speak when You provide an opportunity. Help me remember that I am responsible for faithfulness, not results. Amen.
Today’s Step
Write down the names of three people who need to know the hope of Jesus. Begin praying for them every day.
