Day 5 — Follow the Captain
Scripture: Mark 4:41
“Who then is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
Every vessel needs a captain. The crew may not always understand every decision, but they trust the captain’s experience and leadership.
Jesus is the Captain of our salvation. He sees what we cannot see and knows what lies beyond the horizon. Sometimes He leads us through calm seas; other times He leads us through storms. In both cases, He remains in control.
The disciples learned this lesson on the Sea of Galilee. When the storm threatened to overwhelm them, Jesus demonstrated His authority over wind and waves. The same Savior who calmed that storm still guides His people today.
Following Jesus requires trust, obedience, and surrender. The safest place to be is under the direction of the One who commands the sea.
Reflection Questions:
- Are there areas of your life where you are resisting Christ’s leadership?
- What storm are you facing right now?
- How can you demonstrate trust in Jesus today?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I surrender my course to You. Lead me where You want me to go, and give me the faith to follow wherever You lead. Amen.
