10.Aug 26 - Devotional - Beautiful Feet (Romans 10:5-15)

Day 1 — The Good News

Scripture: Romans 10:9–10

“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

The gospel is not simply good advice. It is good news.

We don’t save ourselves by becoming better people, trying harder, or doing enough religious things. Salvation is God’s gift through Jesus Christ.

Paul gives us a simple picture of faith: confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead.

To confess Jesus as Lord means more than saying the right words. It means recognizing that Jesus is King. He has authority over our lives, our priorities, our relationships, our decisions, and our future.

The Christian life begins by receiving what we could never earn.

Before we can carry the good news to others, we must first recognize the good news for ourselves: Jesus has done for us what we could never do for ourselves.

Reflect

  • Have I personally placed my faith in Jesus Christ?
  • What does it mean for me today to confess that Jesus is Lord?
  • Am I trusting in Christ or in my own goodness?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for the good news of salvation. Thank You that I don’t have to earn Your grace. Help me trust You completely and surrender every area of my life to Your lordship. Amen.

Today’s Step

Take a few minutes today to thank God specifically for the salvation you have received through Jesus.
