Day 5: Receive the Greatest Gift

Scripture: John 1:12

“Yet to all who did receive Him…He gave the right to become children of God.”

Jesus’ teaching about receiving His disciples ultimately points us to a greater invitation: receiving Christ Himself.

The greatest reward is not recognition or even future blessings. The greatest reward is a relationship with Jesus. Through Him we receive forgiveness, peace with God, eternal life, and the privilege of belonging to His family.

As those who have received Christ, we are now called to represent Him well. We become His hands and feet, extending His welcome, grace, and love to others.

May people encounter Jesus because they have encountered us.

• Have you fully received Christ as Lord and Savior?
• How can your life reflect Christ’s love to someone this week?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for welcoming me into Your family through Your grace. Help me to faithfully represent You so that others may see Your love through my words and actions. Use me to offer a “cup of cold water” to someone in need today. Amen.

 Day 4: Faithfulness That Heaven Sees

Scripture: Colossians 3:23–24

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

It’s easy to become discouraged when our efforts seem unnoticed. We may wonder whether our service makes a difference.

Jesus assures us that nothing done in His name is forgotten. Every prayer, every sacrifice, every encouraging word, and every unseen act of obedience is remembered by our Heavenly Father.

Our reward is not found in human applause but in God’s approval. He sees what others miss.

Faithfulness is never wasted.

• Where have you been tempted to give up because you felt unnoticed?
• How does God’s promise encourage you to keep serving?

Prayer

Father, remind me that You see every act of obedience. Help me to serve You with joy, whether anyone else notices or not. Amen.

Day 3: A Cup of Cold Water

Scripture: Matthew 10:42

“If anyone gives even a cup of cold water…that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

The world often celebrates grand accomplishments, but Jesus celebrates faithful hearts. A simple cup of cold water became an illustration of eternal significance.

God notices the text message sent to encourage a hurting friend. He sees the meal delivered to a struggling family, the quiet prayer offered for a neighbor, and the smile that welcomes a first-time visitor.

No act of kindness done for Christ is too small. What seems ordinary to us is extraordinary in God’s eyes when done with love.

• What “cup of cold water” can you offer someone today?
• Are you faithful in small opportunities, or do you wait for bigger ones?

Prayer

Lord, help me to be faithful in the little things. Open my eyes to opportunities to serve others with simple acts of kindness that reflect Your love. Amen.
