Day 4: The Plumb Line of Christ
Scripture: Luke 6:46–49; Luke 10:25–37
Focus: Jesus as the Standard
Observation:
Jesus says, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say?” He is our plumb line—not just for belief, but for obedience. In Luke 10, Jesus reveals that real love doesn’t avoid the wounded—it moves toward them.
The Good Samaritan wasn’t just a good man; he was aligned with the heart of God. Being upright means living out the truth in action.
Reflection Questions:
- Are there areas where you’re hearing Jesus but not obeying Him?
- Who in your life is God asking you to love more sacrificially?
Challenge:
Do one intentional act of love today for someone outside your comfort zone—a neighbor, coworker, or stranger. Let Christ's standard guide you.
Prayer:
Jesus, You are my foundation. Align my life with Your words. Help me love with action, not just sentiment. Teach me to be a neighbor like You—merciful, present, and selfless. Amen.
