Day 3: Rejecting Correction
Scripture: Amos 7:10–13; Psalm 82
Focus: Resistance vs. Repentance
Observation:
Amaziah, the priest, told Amos to go away—he didn’t want to hear what God was saying. Psalm 82 reminds us that injustice and neglect bring God’s rebuke. Sometimes we’re like Amaziah—we reject correction, tune out conviction, and protect our comfort.
But correction is a gift. It’s how God restores us.
Reflection Questions:
- Are you open to spiritual correction—from Scripture, mentors, or the Spirit?
- Have you ever rejected truth because it was hard to hear?
Challenge:
Ask someone you trust this: “Do you see anything in my life that doesn’t reflect Christ?” Listen without defensiveness and thank them for their honesty.
Prayer:
Father, I confess that I sometimes resist correction. Soften my heart to Your voice and to the wisdom of others. Teach me to love truth more than comfort. Make me quick to repent and slow to defend myself. Amen.
