Scripture:
“This man went down to his house justified rather than the other.” – Luke 18:14
Reflection:
To be justified means to be declared righteous in God’s sight—not by our works, but by His grace. The tax collector didn’t bring a list of accomplishments; he brought a heart of repentance. And God met him with mercy. We can’t earn righteousness—it’s a gift received by faith. The Pharisee left with pride; the sinner left with peace. Which path are you on?
Application:
Stop striving to earn God’s love. Instead, rest in the reality that through Christ, you are already accepted and justified. Live out of gratitude, not guilt.
Prayer:
Father, thank You that my standing with You is based on mercy, not merit. Free me from the burden of performance. Help me to live in the joy of Your forgiveness. Amen.
