Devotional: Spiritual Alignment Journey

 Day 3: Rejecting Correction

Scripture: Amos 7:10–13; Psalm 82


Focus: Resistance vs. Repentance


Observation:

Amaziah, the priest, told Amos to go away—he didn’t want to hear what God was saying. Psalm 82 reminds us that injustice and neglect bring God’s rebuke. Sometimes we’re like Amaziah—we reject correction, tune out conviction, and protect our comfort.


But correction is a gift. It’s how God restores us.


Reflection Questions:

  • Are you open to spiritual correction—from Scripture, mentors, or the Spirit?
  • Have you ever rejected truth because it was hard to hear?

Challenge:

Ask someone you trust this: “Do you see anything in my life that doesn’t reflect Christ?” Listen without defensiveness and thank them for their honesty.


Prayer:

Father, I confess that I sometimes resist correction. Soften my heart to Your voice and to the wisdom of others. Teach me to love truth more than comfort. Make me quick to repent and slow to defend myself. Amen.

Devotional: Spiritual Alignment Journey Day 2

 Day 2: Intercession Moves the Heart of God

Scripture: Amos 7:1–6


Focus: The Power of Prayer


Observation:

Before the plumb line vision, Amos sees two disasters coming: locusts and fire. Both times, he pleads with God to stop—and God listens. That’s the power of intercession. When we pray, we aren’t just expressing faith—we’re standing in the gap.


God listens to heartfelt prayer. Not because we deserve it, but because He is merciful.


Reflection Questions:

  • Who needs your prayers right now?
  • Do you believe your prayers can move the heart of God?

Challenge:

Write down the names of three people or groups in need of God’s mercy. Spend 10 minutes interceding for them today—out loud if possible.


Prayer:

God, thank You for hearing prayer. Forgive me when I doubt its power. Teach me to pray like Amos—with faith, urgency, and compassion. Use my prayers to bring healing and change. Amen.

Devotional: Spiritual Alignment Journey Day 1

 Day 1: The Need for a Spiritual Checkup

Scripture: Amos 7:7–8


Focus: God’s Plumb Line


Observation:

God shows Amos a vision of a plumb line—a tool that tests whether a wall is straight. Spiritually, it represents God's perfect standard. Israel looked religious on the outside, but was morally and spiritually crooked. God’s plumb line exposes what is misaligned so it can be made right.


A spiritual checkup isn’t about shame—it’s about truth, restoration, and growing in Christ.


Reflection Questions:

  • Where might your life be out of alignment with God’s truth?
  • Are you living by His standard—or your own?

Challenge:

Find 15 quiet minutes today. Ask God: “Where am I spiritually drifting?” Write down what He shows you. Don’t edit—just listen.


Prayer:

Lord, I invite You to examine my heart. Show me what I need to confess and realign. Help me walk in truth and humility, and build my life on Your standard, not the world’s. Amen.

Devotional: Ways of the Master Day 5

 

Day 5: Obey and Trust the Process


Scripture: Matthew 10:14


“If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.”


Observation:

Not everyone will respond. That’s okay. Our job isn’t to save—it’s to sow. Faithful obedience is our metric of success, not numbers or applause. Don’t get discouraged by rejection; keep going. Some seeds take time to grow. Trust God with the results.


Question to Consider:

Where is God calling me to obey—even if I don’t see results yet?


Challenge:

Reflect on a place or relationship where obedience feels hard. Take one step of faith today and leave the results to God.


Prayer:

God, I trust You with the process. Help me to obey even when I don’t see the outcome. Keep me faithful and fruitful. Amen.


Closing Reminder:


You don’t have to reinvent the wheel—you just have to follow the ways of the Master.


See God’s heart for people.

Locate the lost.

Pray strategically.

Find the person of peace.

Obey faithfully.

Devotional: Ways of the Master Day 4

 Day 4: Find the Person of Peace


Scripture: Matthew 10:11–13


“Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. As you enter the home, give it your greeting.”


Observation:

Jesus taught His disciples to look for someone “worthy”—what we now call a person of peace. This is someone receptive to the message, the messenger, and the mission. Don’t waste energy forcing conversations through closed doors. Ask God to lead you to those He has already prepared.


Question to Consider:

Who in my life might be a person of peace—someone open to Jesus?


Challenge:

Think of someone in your circle who may be open to spiritual things. Pray for them. Invite them to a conversation, service, or study.


Prayer:

Father, lead me to someone You’ve prepared. Help me recognize the person of peace and be ready to share the hope of Christ. Amen.
