Devotional: Fully Committed Day 3

Day 3: The Cost of Discipleship

Scripture: Luke 9:57–62

Focus: Jesus accepts no conditions—only commitment.

Devotional Thought:
Each person in this passage has a “but first.” But Jesus accepts no terms. Discipleship isn’t part-time or casual—it’s all-in. Following Jesus means giving up our comfort, control, and preferences. If you're not fully in, you're not in at all.

Reflection Questions:

  • Have you been trying to follow Jesus on your own terms?
  • What are you unwilling to give up?

Challenge:
Fast from one comfort today (social media, a meal, entertainment) to reflect on the cost of following Jesus—and use that time to pray for a deeper commitment.

Prayer:
Lord, remove the conditions I’ve placed on following You. Teach me to lay down my comforts, my expectations, and even my dreams for Your kingdom. Amen.

Devotional: Fully Committed Day 2

Day 2: Rejection Isn’t the End

Scripture: Luke 9:51–56

Focus: Rejection is part of the journey.

Devotional Thought:
Jesus knew what lay ahead—Jerusalem, the cross—but He “set His face” toward it anyway. When the Samaritan village rejected Him, He didn’t respond with bitterness or fire from heaven. He kept going. If Jesus was rejected, we will be too. Don't let rejection define your faith.

Reflection Questions:

  • Have you let rejection cause you to retreat?
  • How can you respond with grace instead of anger?

Challenge:
Think of one person or situation where you’ve experienced rejection. Pray for that person or situation today—and release it to God without resentment.

Prayer:
Jesus, help me to keep moving forward when others turn away. Teach me to love, not retaliate, even when it’s painful. Amen.

Devotional: Fully Committed Day1

 Day 1: Called and Committed

Scripture: 1 Kings 19:15–16, 19–21

Focus: God's call demands a response.

Devotional Thought:
When Elisha is called by Elijah, he doesn’t hesitate. He burns his plow and slaughters his oxen—a dramatic way of saying, “I’m not going back.” That’s full commitment. God doesn’t call us to convenience; He calls us to commitment.

Reflection Questions:

  • What plows do you need to burn in your life?
  • Are you holding onto a “plan B” in case following Jesus gets too hard?

Challenge:
Identify one “backup plan” or security blanket that keeps you from trusting God fully. Write it down—and take one bold step this week to lay it down.

Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to respond like Elisha—to follow You wholeheartedly, leaving behind what once defined me. Amen.

Devotional: Journey of Deliverance and Purpose Part 5

Day 5: From Delivered to Commissioned

Scripture: Luke 8:39

“So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.”

Observation:
The man’s story didn’t end at healing—it launched a new mission. He became one of the first evangelists to the Gentiles, spreading hope to ten cities. Deliverance is the doorway to purpose.

Truth: Jesus doesn’t just save us—He sends us.

Challenge:
Have you embraced the mission that comes with your freedom? Who needs to hear what Jesus has done in your life?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for not only saving me but entrusting me with a purpose. Let my life be a testimony that shouts Your name.

Final Word:

Jesus delivers, Jesus transforms, and Jesus sends.
You are not just freed from something—you are freed for something. Go and tell.

Devotional: Journey of Deliverance and Purpose

 Day 4: Stay and Share

Scripture: Luke 8:38-39

“The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with Him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, ‘Return home and tell how much God has done for you.’”

Observation:
Jesus didn’t allow the man to follow Him. Instead, He sent him home with a purpose—to share his story. He turned a formerly broken man into a bold witness among people who once feared him.

Truth: You don’t need a stage to preach—your story is the sermon.

Challenge:
Is there a place or group of people where God is asking you to stay, speak up, and share what He’s done in your life?

Prayer:
Jesus, help me be willing to stay if that’s where You want me. Use my story to point others to Your goodness and power. Amen.
