Day 1 – Remember You Are Dust
Scripture: Psalm 114
Reflection:
Lent begins with ashes and ends with an empty tomb. We are reminded that we are dust—fragile, finite, and dependent. Psalm 114 recalls how creation itself trembled at God’s presence. The sea fled. The mountains skipped. Why? Because the living God was near.
We often live as if we are in control, forgetting both our frailty and His power. Yet remembrance grounds us. We are dust—but we are dust that God breathes life into. We are temporary—but held by an eternal God.
To remember rightly is to live humbly.
Challenge:
Pause today and reflect on your dependence on God. Where have you been living as if you are self-sufficient?
Prayer:
Lord, remind me that I am dust, sustained only by Your grace. Teach me humility and dependence on You.
